The most essential thing that is paramount when camping. Leaving an itinerary with family & friends. You can load up all your gear and equipment and be set and ready.

But the most important thing is letting people know; Where you are going. And when you are expected back.

Tent Camping Equipment Some Essentials

  • Tent

Two things to consider when buying a tent. First is how difficult is it to put and take down.

  • Tarp

It’s always good to carry a tarp with you. And not just carry it. But actually set it up. You will need two tarps. 1. To put under the tent. And 2. To put over the tent. Better to do it before it starts raining. Also you will probably use rope when putting the tarp in place.

  • Rope always comes in handy for putting tarps and hammock up. And always be prepared for bad weather. Tie things down so that they don’t blow away.

Don’t Leave Home Without Camping Tools

  • First Aid Kit

Your Always going to want to take a good first aid kit. You never know when it will come in handy. Hopefully you never need to use it. But if the time comes. Where you do need it. You will be happy you have the first aid kit.

  • Swiss Army Knife or All in one knife

You never know when a knife will come in handy. But the good thing about a Swiss army knife. Or I call it an all in one. You have a lot of additional tools at your finger tips.

  • Hammer

You are going to need a hammer to stake your tent to the ground. So you don’t roll down the hill. (Joking). But yes a hammer comes in handy.

  • Hatchet

The hatchet can also be used for multi tasking. Hammer on one end and chop wood on the other. A good hatchet is a wise addition to your tool kit.

  • Flashlight

Don’t forget your flashlight. And now you can get the traditional flashlight. That you would hold in your hand. Or hands free. You wear it on your head. It’s a band that fit’s on your head with a flashlight attached. It’s really cool for Camping.

If you get to the campground late. And need to put the tent up in the dark. The headband flashlight let’s you. Because your hands are free.

  • Lantern

To me one of the most important things. You can take camping is a lantern. Sometimes you are just out in the pitch black. The only saving grace is your lantern. And you don’t want to walk to the potty in the pitch black.

Staying Cozy Camping With These Essentials

  • Camping Sleeping bag & Pillow

You absolutely want to bring these camping. A sleeping bag and a pillow. You need to stay warm and comfy when you sleep.

  • Camping Cot And Sleeping Pad

Believe me this is one you will thank me for. Without a Cot & sleeping pad you are sleeping on the ground. I don’t know about you, but for me I need my back. So I for one use a Cot and sleeping pad.

What’s great about a cot and the sleeping pad. They are both lite weight and very portable. They are both worth the price.

And please don’t forget your pillow. Another essential to a good night rest. that will keeping you a happy camper.

A Camping Canopy Keeps You Out of the Elements

  • Canopy

Every campsite needs to have a canopy. You need a canopy to place over the campground table. Or if there isn’t a campground table. Your table and chairs.

You can get a canopy that will last a very long time. And it’s 1, 2, 3 and there set up. Don’t forget to use your hammer to stake it to the ground. You don’t want the wind to take your canopy like a kite.

The canopy is going to be used more than your tent. It’s going to be the only cover from the Sun and rain.

What Would Camping be Without Cooking Utensils?

  • Cooking Stove

A Camping stove is one of those items your never going to forget. You may forget your pillow. Or the milk in the fridge, when packing. But the stove you know to bring it.

  • Pots & Pans

Again when you are tent camping. There may be nothing when you get there. Some campgrounds will have water and electric. But they are not going to furnish your cookware.

So if you intend on eating. Get the essentials. Pots and pans, Plates etc.

  • Knifes and Forks, Spoons (Silverware) Cooking Utensils

This category falls into everything you are going to need to make breakfast, lunch and dinner.

  • Coffee Pot

Don’t leave home without it. A camping peculator comes in handy. You can use it for boiling water or making hot drinks.

If your ruffing it a coffee cup can be an all purpose cup.

  • Ice Chest

One of the most important thing. You will need to bring is a good ice Chest. One that is going to keep your goods cold.

Some campgrounds sell wood. But call in advance because if they don’t you may want to bring some wood. Or be prepared to use the axe or hatchet.

Make sure to ask in advance if you can bring your own wood. Depending on the state. You should not be transporting wood from one state to another. Due to laws and pest control.

You always want to make sure you have enough drinking water. If you are at a campground. Where there is water and electric. But no showers. You can always buy a portable water heater for a portable shower.
